NAM SON PAGODA: THE CHARMS OF VIBRANT STILLNESS

Nam Son Pagoda is a harmonious fusion of cultural discovery and natural beauty. Its serene and majestic ambiance, coupled with its unique architectural style, make it a destination that goes beyond just a religious place and becomes a must-visit spot for those seeking memorable experiences.

What makes Nam Son Pagoda worth exploring?

Nestled amidst lush surroundings, Nam Son Pagoda is an expansive sanctuary that promises to transport you to the enchanting scene of an ancient Chinese movie. At first glance, the pagoda stands out with a distinctive earthy orange hue. As you approach, you’ll be captivated by the intricately carved details, tranquil scene, and unmistakable architectural style of the Nguyen Dynasty, highlighted by the rich hue of deep red and golden adornment. These elements come together to create a visual symphony, transforming the pagoda into a place where every corner can be a good spot for photographing. And as you continue wandering, a sense of calm will wash over you, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

In terms of location, the pagoda is located on Da Nang’s outskirts, along Nguyen Kha Trac Street in Cam Nam village, Hoa Chau commune, Cam Le district. It is just about 10 kilometers from the city center, so it is very convenient to visit, especially for those who have intensive schedules but are eager to seize every moment.

Every day, the pagoda opens as early as 5 AM. And it is also the best time to come here, as the morning visit will unveil a dual spectacle—the serene meditation enclave in the gentle dawn light and the vibrant allure that bathes the pagoda in a golden embrace.

Moreover, spanning over 10,000 square meters, the pagoda has various areas to explore. For example, the Meditation Hall, Vong Nguyet Pavilion, Phong Sanh Lake, Main Hall, the temple garden, Tam Tang Bridge, the lantern tree, etc. Whether you’re a traveling photographer in pursuit of the perfect shot or seeking solace in quiet contemplation, here you will find your own moment of inspiration.

Important notes for your visit

While Nam Son Pagoda is open to the public, it is still a place of religious meditation. To maintain the solemnity of the temple, please take note of the following guidelines:

  • Dress code: Avoid wearing short skirts or shorts. In case you need it, you can borrow a blue robe at the entrance of the temple.
  • No photography or filming in restricted areas: Refrain from taking photos or filming in the main hall and subsidiary buildings.
  • Consider leaving before 9 PM: Dawn is also a good time to visit and take photos of the pagoda. However, to maintain the serene and quiet evening atmosphere here, it is recommended to leave earlier, even though the pagoda remains open until 9 PM.

Additionally, the pagoda offers free admission and has designated parking areas. However, if you choose to ride a motorcycle to the pagoda, please exercise caution and adhere to safety measures, as the road to the temple can be challenging for inexperienced riders.
