Starlux Airlines is the first airline to utilize a self bag drop system at Da Nang International Terminal along with other available self-service options to eliminate lines, making the pre-boarding procedure faster and more stress-free and providing a seamless experience.

More automation equals better experience

The global trend of integrating self-service solutions with airline services is reshaping procedures and significantly enhancing passenger experiences worldwide. Self bag drop solutions, in particular, are revolutionizing check-in processes by drastically reducing queues and streamlining operations.

On February 29, 2024, Starlux Airlines, an international airline based in Taiwan, became the pioneer in employing self bag drop at Da Nang International Terminal. Furthermore, Starlux Airlines has also implemented other automated systems within the terminal, including self check-in kiosks and auto-boarding gates.

These integrations yield dual benefits for both airlines and airport terminals. For Starlux Airlines, self-service amenities ensure smooth passenger experiences during peak hours and empower travelers with greater control over their journey, particularly for frequent flyers or those who prefer automated methods. For our terminal, these services optimize space utilization and enhance passenger flow.

To ensure accessibility for all passengers, including first-time travelers, Da Nang International Terminal has deployed a dedicated Passenger Assistant Team (PAT) to offer timely support. Passengers can easily identify PAT members as they are always on standby around automated systems.

Currently, self-service options available at Da Nang International Terminal include autogate, auto-boarding gate, self check-in kiosk, and self bag drop. However, these are just the beginning of our commitment to technological advancements. Looking forward, we plan to expand these services and introduce more advanced solutions for passengers and airline partners alike. Besides, we eagerly look forward to partnering with new airlines that will fully utilize all of these services.
